Helpless, Hopeless, and Homeless.
The night Sam said yes to Lucifer, Cas was the one that told Dean that Lucifer had taken his true vessel and watched Dean walk out of the cabin. It was the sound of shattering glass and metal being smashed in moments later that alerted Cas, running outside, he found Dean demolishing the Impala, screaming out his anger, his sorrow, his regret with every swing of the crowbar. Castiel stood silent watching the last bit of the Dean he knew, the one he fell for, the one he loved, destroy the last thing he cherished so deeply along with himself and when Dean turned around to look at Cas, silent tears falling down his cheeks he told the angel; “There’s no point in having a home without a family.” That was the first night Castiel got high, because while Dean mourned Sam, Castiel mourned Dean.
